Photography by Laura Chen (Perth Children’s Photographer)
As a Perth children’s photographer I was very honoured to be able to photograph this event for Perth Autism Support.
This is a fantastic charity, supporting children under the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with autism, and their families. Their aim is to ensure that every child diagnosed with autism in Perth & Kinross has access to quality activities and services. They do invaluable job with little funding and it the importance of their job was undeniable at the awards.
This was a fantastic event to attend. The host was absolutely perfect! He was full of cheek and never ending laughs.
The families were so sweet and welcoming. The children were beyond beautiful.. These are the children who put everyone else before themselves. Children who go out of their way to raise money for this wonderful charity.. They have no doubt restored my faith inhumanity. And watching them smile and beam with pride at the awards was incredible.
Big thank you to all the wonderful families and Perth Autism Support staff- you were all fantastic! We’ve both left your event more educated, understanding and admittedly very emotional. We thank you for this…

Family photography session – Perth children’s and family portrait photographer
Family photography for me is alluring, inspiring and simply beautiful…
I hardly ever walk past a family these days without seeing them in front of my lens.. I really do want to photograph them all…
Photographing little Christopher with his mum and dad was an absolute dream… An almost 6 months old little cherub with the most gorgeous gummy smile, a beautiful mum and one besotted dad made the afternoon at the North Inch such a pleasure- working days don’t get any better than that..
And did I mention just how incredibly cute Christopher is? He’s got the most adorable baby cheeks… The little fella smiled and giggled the whole time- the most content baby I have met.. Of course his dad’s talents at keeping him amused and getting his attention might have had something to do with it..
He’s going to be a heart breaker when he’s older…
Thank you for a lovely afternoon, guys! You were fantastic! I hope you enjoy your photographs as much as I enjoyed creating them.
You know the show biz saying that you should never work with small children? Well, they couldn’t be more wrong.. Working with Jack (or Jacko as his mum sweetly nicknamed him) was an absolute joy! At the tender age of 15 months this little sweetheart showered me with huge, genuine smiles and I even got a kiss- working days don’t get much better than this 🙂 As a children’s photographer I always said i’d never ask any child to stand still and smile for the camera- best smiles are the real ones, and sometimes it’s ok not to smile, so little Jack and I just ran around the grass playing, which resulted in natural photographs and us all having a relaxed afternoon…
I really enjoyed my afternoon with you, guys! I hope you love the photographs as much as I enjoyed creating them..
P.S Jack, your selfie will always make me smile…
